Pedipeds & kids who walk

For the walkers, do you still use the regular Pedipeds while they're out & about? Or just in the house? I just was at the shoe store buying DD shoes and talking to the owner. They sell Pedipeds there, I was saying how I have a few pairs for DD, he said they should not be worn outside, just for inside the house, b/c of the soles. Now, I could see that maybe b/c there's no tread, very thin soles. But I've put her in them outside before.

My sister is a pediped finatic and her DD wore them through the beginning of this summer. She is 2.5 (feb b-day) and so she is definately very active. They do sell rubber soled pedipeds now also on the website.

Personally for me, I would rather my DD be in a regular shoe once she was walking around.
