Party question

My DD’s communion is in May and I booked her communion party at a restaurant. I have to pay a certain amount per person. My SIL texted me to say that her, my BIL and my nephew are coming but only for an hour because my nephew has a bday party to go to. If you were me would you even include them in the restaurant count? By the time the food is served, they will be leaving, so I wasn’t sure if I should bother including and paying for them.

Re: Party question

The price per head is for the meal so if they will not be there for the meal, I wouldn't include them.

Party question

It is a sit-down lunch with assigned seats? If they come for just an hour, won't they still need a seat at the table? They'll probably have drinks and any appetizers that may be served before they leave. I think I would just tell the restaurant that 3 people will be leaving before the main course. They may charge you a nominal fee (or nothing) for those 3 people. But, they'll need a place to sit, IMO.

I guess they would set up tables for how ever many I tell them, but I'm not doing assigned seats. There are booths off to the side, though... Honestly would rather them just not come at so it's less complicated lol... I am already kind of annoyed that they are leaving their niece's communion to go to a classmate's bday party, but I digress...

If you do end up having to pay full price for them, make sure to ask the restaurant to pack the 2 meals to go and take them home. If you're paying for it anyway, might as well get your money's worth!

My opinion...underestimate by 2-3 because I'm sure you'll have a last minute cancellation anyway.
