parents whose toddlers sleep in REGULAR bed (twin/full) I just have few questions, please

DD is 2.5. We have a convertible crib, "Simplicity Ellice 4 in 1" DD has been having a very hard time going to sleep and she's been waking up at night, we tried converting a crib into a day bed/toddler bed , used it for a week, first she freaked out and once we DID get her to sleep on it she fell off each night (has rails , but there is an opening in the middle)
She sleeps fine in our big bed, so we decided to get her a regular bed , twin or full , not sure yet.

So I just have few questions if you don't mind answering for me:

-How old was your DC when they started sleeping in a regular bed?
-Do you use convertible bed headboards or did you just buy a whole new bed?
-Where did you buy the bed?
--If you used convertible bed head boards what DID YOU have to buy?
-Where did you buy a mattress/box spring or did the bed come with one?
-What kind of mattress do you have : firm, soft, latex, foam,inspring.... and what brand?

and whatever else you can tell me would be great .

Thank you!

Alex moved to a big girl bed (twin size) when she was 2.5, I think. We have a convertible crib, but we opted to bring her to the store to pick out the bed of her choosing, to get more "buy-in" from her.

We went to Ikea and picked one of the beds there, and bought a mattress there as well. I can't, for the life of me, remember what type of mattress though.

Grace moved to a regular size twin bed right before she turned 3. She went straight from her crib. She has never fallen out of it but will come out of bed now and again and its much harder to get her to go down. It was a lot easier when she couldn't get out of her crib!

Her bed was my MIL who passed away in Oct. Chat Icon She had just bought it recently to moved into a new condo. It is a really pretty white twin from IKEA. The mattress was from there as well. It is extremely comfortable.

We moved DS to a twin bed when he was 23 months. He has rails on both sides which allows him to not fall off. We also bought him Thomas the Train sheets that I knew he would LOVE, and we really talked up the hype about the bed.

we moved miki into her crib converted into a bed at 21 months, then at 26 months, we switched her to a full sized bed, we already had the mattress and we got the bed at ikea

-How old was your DC when they started sleeping in a regular bed? a week after her 3rd birthday

-Where did you buy the bed? Found it in a store around here, then ordered it from NC - is a Wesley Allen

--If you used convertible bed head boards what DID YOU have to buy? Bed rails? We got them from BRU.

-Where did you buy a mattress/box spring or did the bed come with one? Sleepys

-What kind of mattress do you have : Simmons Beautyrest - I think it is a pillowtop but not too cushy

We first went from a crib to an Elmo toddler bed which she just loved and wanted to sleep in it right away. We left teh crib in her room for a few days to make sure although I know your'e not supossed to do that. But I wasn't in a rush to push her into a bed. After about 2 months, I felt she was getting too big for a toddler bed so we got her a full sized bed which she loves now. I probably would have skipped the toddler bed but she really did love it.
