Papa Joe Pitching Pregnant Ashlee Pics?
If you're one of the people who think Joe Simpson sometimes chooses business over wise parenting, these new claims aren't going to change your mind.
Page Six is reporting that Simpson, known as Papa Joe in media circles, has been calling magazines in the hopes of selling photos of his (reportedly) pregnant daughter, Ashlee. This is just the latest chapter in a long history of questionable daughter-promoting ethics for the preacher-turned-daughter-manager.
"Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover," the Page Six source claims. Further details of the possible deal involve Simpson taking the actual pictures -- "so he can make more money" -- along with an an interview and baby photos when the time comes.
One magazine editor says Papa Joe shouldn't get his hopes up. "$60,000 maybe, but definitely not a million," the editor said about Simpson's possible payday.
This wouldn't be the first time that Simpson would go behind the lens and get paid for it. On several occasions with his other daughter Jessica, including an Operation Smile charity trip to Africa, Simpson demanded he be the only photog allowed to take pictures the pop starlet. He then sold them to magazines, basically setting himself up with exclusive photos of his own daughter. He also famously sold photos of Jessica wearing a skimpy bikini while celebrating her 26th birthday in Mexico.

I hear ya.
My friend works for US Weekly. She says any story about the Simpson sisters in the magazine, comes from Joe. Even when the girls deny it. He has US on speeddial or something.

manager role and money grubbing is more important than his dd and future grandchild.. what a loser he is.
eta: Cant blame him only also.. his dd are big girls now and have a mouth to speak up if they dont like him doing what he does.

ITA! They are adults and can get new managers if they want to. If it were my Dad doing that to get money, there's no way I wouldn't address it. I heard on the radio he was spreading the rumors because Ashley's new album is horrible, so they're trying to keep her in the media. It makes sense considering all of her responses lately to questions about the pregnancy. I think she's definitely in on it.
