Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

Ok, so most of the pack in plays have the bassisnet feature...SO, if you are getting one like that, will you also register for a regular bassinet.

Just curious what everyone is doing cause i can't decide.....

Other option is to just get the regular bassinet and a pack and play without bassinet feature.

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

I live in a 1 bedroom Manhattan apt- the PNP w/ a bassinet is *all* we are getting. DS will stay in the bassinet until he's too heavy, then he'll just sleep in the PNP. It's not the optimum solution, but a number of moms in our building did this & are happy. The PNP is easy to move around, the bassinet is really easy to attach/remove, from what I hear the babies love it & some models the bassinet has an attachment that vibrates the mattress.

I have a regular bassinet in my bedroom, there is no room for a pack and play and just have a regular PNP in the den.

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

I registered for a bassinet on BRU.com and didn't even see ti described as a Pack N Play until I looked up the exact same one on the Graco website. Go figure. I guess I will just use it for both - score!

This is what I mean....

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

Getting a PNP only, no bassinet. Didn't make sense to get one since the PNP comes with the bassinet and the baby can't use it all that long.

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

I bought a bassinet for the bedroom, for nighttime and the PNP with bassinet for my den, for afternoon naps.

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

We got a PNP with bassinet and plan to use it as the bassinet in our room at night. I didn't really see the need to spend money on a bassinet that we would only use for a few weeks/months, especially because we have a condo and she may end up in her crib very soon.

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

I registered for the PNP with bassinet for the livingroom/naps.

Chat Icon is going straight into the crib so we would not have gotten a bassinet anway but we have a 2 floor house so the PNP will be good for naps downstairs.

I am registering for PNP w/ bassinett............BUT will be using a traditional bassinett for the first 10 weeks or so in our bedroom. The bassinett is a fanily heirloom at this point.....my Grandma bought it, used it for her 4 children, my used for the 5 of us, my aunt for her 3 children......now I will use it from when baby arrives in June until my sister brings her baby home in August! I will give it up then because it is family tradition!

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

We have both. We used the PNP one in the LR and the regular bassinet stayed in our room at night. But we were given the bassinet so it didn't cost us anything. If I could only afford one or only had space for one I would only go with the PNP with the bassinet.

I do have to say though that Kiera preferred the bassinet to the PNP because the regular bassinet is smaller and when they are only a couple of weeks old they like the closeness of it. She was not very happy in the PNP bassinet. I would have to put her in it when she was already asleep and she did not sleep as long in it. Just my experience with it.

I'm using the bassinet in the PNP, I did for DS as well and it was great. But, if you have the room and you want both register for both. You could keep one in your bedroom and one in the room you are in the most (ie living room).

Re: Pack n play with Bassinet Feature

We had a regular bassinet in our room.

When we had the bassinet feature up on the pack and play DS was never even in it. Not once.

Actually - he hasn't been in his PNP yet - and he is 7 months.

We had the co sleeper upstairs and used the PNP down stairs for naps, changing him and he would just hang out in it. I don't know what I would have done without it. Esp since I had a c-section and wasn't supposed to go up and down the stairs that much.
