Our newest family member!
We picked Bowie up from Bideawee tonight, and everything went well.
He must have been someone's pet because he knows everything. He knew what to do in the car, he knows commands, he went right into the crate and laid down, when we were feeding the babies in our bedroom, he went to the dog bed we put in there and laid right down, AND he let us know he had to go out to use the bathroom.
He is so sweet and wonderful. It already feels like he has been with us forever even though it has been only a few hours!
One of the cats has emerged from hiding, we havent seen the other two in awhile, but I think they will all be ok!
Bowie seems to be camera shy, every time I tried to take a picture, he walked away and went into the crate, so I decided to leave him alone, but I got these two pics:

My dog hates the camera too. The moment I take it out she walks away. I think I may take too many pictures of her and it is her way of telling me to leave her alone.

When I saw his picture I actually gasped "ooooooh!"  He is goooooorgeous! Look at how shiny!
Love the name Bowie. Did you pick that? I think it suits him. I used to know a dog that was afraid of the camera, because of the sound that the flash made when it was warming up. But that was a film camera, of course.
Brinkley knows it's coming when the redeye sensor flashes and he turns his head or closes his eyes. Maybe it's the flash and when it's daylight he won't shy away from it. I think you're smart for laying off for a little while, at least until he gets used to his new home.
I'm so glad for him, and for your family.

he's absolutely gorgeous!! good for you for rescuing a doggie, an adult dog for that! the babies will grow up with so much love and now especially with a dog!

Aw thanks everyone! He really is just so sweet.
He pulls on the leash for walks, but I am working on that already, and by the end of our walk this morning he was much better!

The shelter actually gave him the name, and we decided to keep it. It seems to suit him and he is already used to it, so we didn't want to change that up on him too!
