Our new outdoor dining set (pics)
we bought this last weekend at Costco after looking at a few other places. we bought the lounge chairs too (they were seperate) and they all came with very nice cusions and covers too. So far we love it and can't wait to spend many spring/summer days/nights out there. I'm looking forward to having a margarita on the lounge chair.  Now we really want to get the deck re-stained. I've hated the color since we moved in. The gray of the deck just does not go with the brownish-gray/taupe color of the house. Of course, I really want a new slate patio instead now. I can always dream, right?

Is your deck wood? If so, you can even work with your hubby and sand it down and restain it yourselves! Now that it's getting nicer you can do it on a Saturday and be done! Have some Guiness while you're out there to make it fun lol

Yes, it's wood. The previous owners had a really stinky job done on it before they put the house on the market. We were talking about doing it ourselves. But the question is, what will our 2 year old, who just stopped napping be doing while we are busy with messy sanders & stain?   No family nearby to watch her somewhere else. we could have our babysitter come here, but DD will want to be in the middle of everything.

The table is very heavy slate tiles that are permanently in the table. The top of the table weighs over 200 lbs.  Thank God for helpful neighbors.

Love it we have the same one bought it about 2-3 years ago the only problem is some of the slate pieces get really hot in the sun, be careful! Yes and you are right its really heavy!!!

Aww, too bad it wasn't safer to give her a little job to do. With the dangerous sander and smelly fumes, i wouldn't recommend that lol Maybe you can go out shopping for the day and your DH can do it with a friend? Hope it works out for you!
