Our first foster!!!: UPDATE
DH & I are volunteers for Havanese Rescue and it looks like we will be getting our first foster in about a week. She is a puppy, about 20 weeks, and a puppy mill rescue from PA. She has to go through vet and behavioral tests but we should get her in about a week... I am nervous/excited and hope Denver and Holden accept her.
UPDATE: The family in PA that was taking her to the vet and behavioral specialist fell in love with her and decided to adopt her... which is wonderful So it looks like we won't be fostering just yet...

Good luck..this is really one of the greatest things you can do to help animals. I got my very first foster Dec. 21, was only supposed to have him until 1/6 because a perm. foster was set up...but we could not let him go. For now we are just going to continue to foster him, and let the other home help another dog.
It is so rewarding and wonderful, not without challenges, but the rewards far outweigh them
