Our first couples getaway weekend cancelled

because we're flying to Arizona to look at houses!

My DH has been promoted and we will be moving to Scottsdale. This is an amazing opportunity for him and came waaaaaay earlier then we had expected. I'm swinging from being super-excited to feeling slightly overwhelmed. My job will remain the same, I mostly fly to sites and tele-commute anyway. We are thrilled to be getting the hell out of the Northeast, but we are not really familiar with Arizona.

Does this mean I've gotta start wearing lots of turquoise jewelry and shaking out shoes so I don't get stung by scorpions?

Awesome!!! My bff lived there for a year, i lovvvvvved Scottsdale! We went hiking, ate out (fab restaurants!), galleries, tons of spas (and plastic surgery too ). We didnt spa together but she went and said it was great.

Well, it's a done deal. We are actually renting a house for awhile because we just couldn't get everything done as quickly as they wanted DH out here. This will give us a chance to get acquainted with the different areas of Scottsdale/Phoenix.

I really love it out here, so far. The landscape, the weather, the hiking, and it seems so clean (compared to LI). The people are very friendly. We are a little worried about the bat shit crazy politics of AZ. Politics aside, the overall vibe is just better.

Plus I can always get my "LI fix" by reading the boards! Drama, drama, drama.
