I think we've all experienced quite a few "wack jobs" in the last year. That kind of made me think that it might be better to break it off into smaller groups of posters who "know" each other. But, then there would have to be multiple people coordinating it and I'm sure LOTS of people would feel "uninvited" and lots of problems would be created

last year we were posting on a wedding planning website and holly organized an ornament swap. Everyone who wanted to participate sent their name and address to holly. She then sent the name and address on to another poster who would go out and purchase an ornament (withn $7) and ship it to the person whose name they got.
It was hugely successful, but there were a few "bad apples" who either didn't send the ornament or were not included in the swap because they didn't submit their name and address on time.

Well, how I do it is this:
I give a deadline for when people have to get me their name and address . THen I take all the names and addresses, and pick the names, and FM everyone their persons name and mailing address.
THe limit I had was $7.00
Everyone mails their ornament the weekend of Thanksgiving(Fri or SAT)
THen there is like one thread, and we all post who we got it from, what it was, how we love it and a big thank you!
Its kept a secret until the person receives it!
Last year I was giving out names the week of my wedding!!! Kristin(June262004) was a huge help in fming people their peoples names. IT was a success the first year, and teh second year was a success, but I did have some people who were not totally cooperative.
it awas 64 people last year!
I just dont have the time to commit to it this year! Anyone who wants to coordinate and has any questions, please feel free to FM me.

Hey, if somebody else does organize it this year, maybe we could bring the maximum up a bit more than $7. I had a hell of a time finding a nice ornament that was under $10.

I would love to be a part of it again. If nobody can coordinate it, I would love to "step up", but, be patient with me. LOL
If I give a deadline, I hope to hear from everyone by then so there is no confusion.
Holly, plz FM me and let me know. You can use me as a "last" resort (or whatever that saying is..LOL).
