Orion as a boy's name...thoughts?
Hey ladies. My DH really likes this name and I am on the fence. Just wanted to hear your thoughts either in writing or in a poll. Thanks!

i voted hellz no...i wouldn't have used those words, they are yours  but basically yeah, that's how i feel!
I actually have a friend who just named her son that...she has an off kilter name as well so I guess it makes sense...
but it's just not something I'd ever think of as a name.

Ive only heard it once, with a boy at my job. He was named after his dad and as he got older they called him by his middle name, Michael.

I had a student with that name this year...actually it was his middle name and Albert was his first but everyone called him "Orion" ( Or-ree-on)

Crashing-
DH is head over heels in love with this name. He's talked about naming our  that if we ever have one. I personally am not a fan, but I compromised and said if we ever do have a boy, we'll shorten it and name his Rion (pronounced as Ryan). Maybe that could be an alternative for you and your DH?

My DD has a little boy in her daycare with this name. I've never heard it before, it seems most of the kids call him Ryan or Brian instead. I love nicknames, but I wouldn't want my LO being called the wrong name. I'm laura and can't stand when people mistake my name for Lauren.

I voted that I didn't really like it but that was because I was reading your unedited title as "Orior" and I was like WTH kind of name is that 
I LOVE Orion! Makes me think of Orion's belt and it feels very "cosmic"!

Thanks for all of your opinions. No need to be sorry if you don't like it, that's why I asked! As I said my DH really likes it a lot and I like the idea of it (differen't/nature like) but not sure if I like it for my babies name hehe. Its always interesting to hear other peoples take on a name
