optimum's version of tivo???
can someone please help me with this??? for some reason i just dont get the whole tivo thing, or how it works lol. I desperately want to get it though because there are so many shows that we miss. what is the difference between tivo and how much does it cost and does optimum/cablevision offer something similar? thank you so much!

I have a DVR through cablevision- it is similar to cable. I turne din my old box for a new box that had the DVR in it. I pay $9.95 to have it and it is worth it. there are so many shows that I missed in the past but thanks to the DVR I dont have to miss them!

I thought Tivo used a phone line & cable was just through cable??
I got DVR (optimum) last week - and love it.

We have DVR also, love it!!
You don't need a phone line and it is just a 1 box combo for your cable box/dvr.

u can hook tivo up through ur computer so a phone line is not necessary

The optimum version of TiVO is the DVR box. I got it for DH for Christmas. It's cheaper than TiVO (I believe) and it's basically just like a regular cable box but with a built DVR recorder. It's $9.95/mo and you pay nothing for the box as long as you are replacing one in your house already. If it's an additional box, then it's $12.95/mo.

That is odd, I have a DVR box through time warner ( i live in NC) and I only pay 6.95 a month for the box
