Opinions on couch size for a small room?
I need opinions please.
We have a small front sitting room witha tv mounted on the walland I am looking for a couch to fit against one of the walls. The wall measures 84 inches (wall to wall in width, the room is only like 10 feet long). I found a great couch but it is 80 inches long---do you think this is going to look like I am squeezing a couch that is too big into the space----I wasnt planning on putting any end tables on either side of the couch because it would not look right in the space. Should I go with a smaller couch---its just hard to find something around 75 inches--the are either 80 or 65ish ( I would like me and dh to sit and watch tv without feeling smooshed). If anyone has any pictures of a couch going wall to wall I would really appreciate to see a picture. I dont know if it makes a difference but there are two windows that would be behind the couch and the room is open, not closed in.

I have an apartment sofa. It seats 3 people. The arms are thiner allowing 3 people to seat.
I looked at loveseats but the arem are much bigger and seats less people than an apartment sofa.

I would look for either an apartment sized sofa or something in the 78-65" range. For me, having the sofa take p the entire wall of the room, would make me feel like the sofa swallowed the room.
What style are you looking at - do you have pics of the room or sofa?

Check out Room and Board. They have a large showroom in SoHo and a great website. Most of their sofas come in various sizes.

We needed a smaller scale couch too for our apartment.
The first pic is the Camden from Crate and Barrel. It comes in 69" and 80" size.
The second pic is the Troy from C&B. It is 78". We went with that b/c it's more comfortable for everyday use. If we had a sitting room that's not used everyday, we would've went with the Camden.
