OPI Axxium Gel nail color- problems??

I have been getting this since May. I liked it because I didn't havet o get my nails done every week and it didn't chip.

Unfortunately I had to stop this due to my nails cracking and breaking. They have become so weak that when they would file my nails are sore...

I used to have such strong nails and I now I don't know what to do to get them back to where being healthy...

Has this happened to anyone else. I wrote to the company waiting for a response. I researched online and itlooks like this has happened...

this is what happens with gel manicures. everything i've read about it..people say their nails get very weak. i asked my nail lady about it too..said the same thing..it will wreck your nails.

in the past I've used the nailtiques treatment system. a little pricey, but worth it. i think you start with # 2 and when the nails get stronger maintain with # 1. also, i have a paraffin bath thing..melts the parafin wax and i put it on my hands..makes my hands nice and soft.

it will probably take a while for your nails to recover.

I did this once about a month ago, and my nails are destroyed. I had already paper thin nails. Not only did this crap not last on my nails- had a chip in 1 day- but it peeled off in less than 2 weeks. My nails are now brittle and thinner than they already were if that is possible. NEVER AGAIN. For the price of it I was really ******. I could have had 5 manicures that last a week for that price and my nails would not have been ruined.

Can you tell I am bitter? LOL.

I've had it done 2x. I like it for a vacation, but that's it. I did it when we went to Jamaica and it was fabulous, on an everyday basis, not so much. I like to have my nails done every week bc I like to change my colors. It did make my nails thin also after.

yes, i did it a few times and stopped (went back to a powder/gel mani) because it was destroying my nails.

the problem was that they would file the hell out of my nails every 2 weeks after removing the axxium, before applying the new axxium

I did it once and never again! They all peeled after 2 days and my nails were wrecked. It looked like I had tips on for years and I only had the gel on for 2 days!

I agree with the PP, Nailtiques really is the way to go. That saved my nails after the gel CF!

I did this for a few months since I liked the no chipping for 2 weeks

but my real nails did get so weak and I didnt like that so I am back to regular manis

I did it from April to July. Like you, it lasted two to three weeks the first few times and then it started to lift after a week as the top layer of my nails was getting removed each time and making them weaker. I am currently trying to grow my nails out to a good condition again. I would do it again but only on a once-off for a special occasion.

I will get nailtiques. I went bak to a reg manicure, do you t hink that is even ok to do???

Too many people have been having problems it seems. I think they should stop using this product!!!

I went back to a regular mani with no issues

all "fake" nail products cause issues...I think more for how they take it off then how they put it on

I got two regular manis after using the gel, but just stopped and let my nails go au natural for the past 2 months because I found my nails were getting worse and not better. I am almost back to where I was before having the gel mani. I would not do it again unless I was going away on a long vacation. My gel mani lasted 2 weeks, which for me was fantastic. With a normal mani I usually chip the next day.

Last year, for my wedding I did the gel manicure. It totally ruined my nails. About 6 months went by and my nails went back to normal. Now they are better than ever and I never ever will do those gel manicures again.

To repair my nails, I used Nailtiques.

My nails got weak ... but I am still hooked like a crack head. No chipping was awesome as my nails chip usually hours after a manicure. between work and my fanitical cleaning they never last ....

I have had them off for about a month and they are back to normal. I used nailtikes to get them back to normal

I am going away for the weekend soon so I will get them on agian for the two weeks and then take them off. I will get them for vacation and special occassions now.... I wish they didnt do this because it was really perfect for me.

Same here...although the OPI gel manicure looks fantastic and I was even able to stretch it to up to three weeks, it destroyed my nails completely. I have nice strong nails so that kind of bummed me out and I stopped doing it. Plus, the soaking part is really dreadful. I'd rather get a weekly mani and change polish frequently.
