Oooooh DH pizzed me off tonight.....the second time this has happened
I could kill DH, but at this point I am just glad he is ok. He entertains clients a few times a week after work, so tonight he was at a fancy dinner and since we live in NJ he takes the bus home if it isn't too late.
Well, since this has happened before I told him DO NOT FALL ASLEEP ON THE BUS AGAIN AND MISS YOUR STOP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.....he told me to call him at a certain time to make sure he wasn't asleep...which I did and the phone kept ringing and ringing and ringing....
Well, I am sitting here totally freaking out imagining every worst case scenario...it usually takes him less than an hour to get home and tonight I haven't heard from him in 1 hour and 45 minutes and he is not picking up his phone.
So I am on hold with NJTransit (I was hoping they could tell me if the bus had completed the route or give me some sense of where the bus was) and DH rings through on the other line....he has fallen asleep AGAIN and is 35 minutes away in Somerville, NJ....the bus driver had to actually wake him up!!!!!
So guess who gets to go pick him up?? And yes, he was completely wasted. I told him to do me a favor and take a car home from the city the next time he has more than 2 beers b/c he is obviously not responsible enough to stay awake long enough to get off at his stop.
UGH!!!!!!!

If it's for business, his company should pay for it. DH takes a car home anytime he stays after 8 or so. (If your Dh has his own company the car would be a writeoff)

I agree!! His company should pay for it or he should be able to use the company's car service. Whenever I have client dinners or work after a cretain time I use the company's car service.

The same thing used to happen all the time with DH....and he's directionally CLUELESS!!! He'd call me and say I'm at some station, not sure which...can you come get me Thank god that doesn't happen anymore!

My DH has does the same type of entertaining. He always takes a car home provided by his company-especially when it is really late.

DH did this as well when we lived on LI. It drove me nuts. I would be up at all hours of the night worrying about him and then suddenly get a phone call saying he was way out in East LI and had fallen asleep on the train...always wasted.
The last time, I told him he had to stand on the train all the way home

I can't tell you how many times I have been in your shoes. Yes, he should take a car home regardless. If he's out with clients late, he has every right to.
Also, what the heck is he doing getting wasted with clients. I would never do that. You have to maintain some professionalism!

I have been there also- not with falling a sleep on a bus or train - but at someone house, or just running around doing stuff when I thought he was coming home- then not answering the phone or leaving somewhere!
it the worst feeling in the whole world-
if I am even 10 minutes late and didn't answer my phone- Jake freaks
yet if he is late and doesn't answer the phone- it's no big deal
men- they just don't get it sometimes!

Dh was trying to be "nice" by taking the bus, but after last night we both agreed that he will be utilizing the car service from now on.

Getting wasted with clients is part of the job..it's a bunch of wall street guys...this is what they do together. I don't agree with it and it obviously negatively affects me, but the more DH "entertains" his clients the more money he makes, so it's kind of a double-edged sword.
