I am so scared that I am going to be able to feel them cutting me... that is my biggest fear.

I had a c-section with my son and that was my biggest fear. That's all I kept saying to them was to make sure I don't feel anything. Just voice your concerns when you're in the process of being in the operating room. Everything will be fine! Chat Icon

I can totally understand your fear. It is not silly and I you are NOT the first to have this fear.
Here are some things you can request to help with that fear:
Once you have your spinal your legs will feel 100lbs and you will not feel anything very soon. For me, that was very scary. Ask the nurse to pinch you in a few places. If you can feel ANYTHING, then you can tell them at that time. If you can't then you know you are all numbed up. This is NOT silly to ask for. Just explain that you have a concern and would like their help to make you more comfortable.
You can also ask that the doctor do this instead of the nurse if you are more comfortable with that.

My biggest fear of the c-section is the fact that I won't feel my legs. I am also nervous that they will give me too much and my chest will go numb and I won't be able to feel myself breathing. I will def have a panic attack. I told my dr this and he told me that if I get too scared he can give me a sedative.

i'm the same way.

part of me is in denial (for some reason i refuse to pack my hospital bag), and the other part of me is screaming holy **** she's coming out one way or another in the coming weeks!

my last 2 internals show no progress so i'm a little concerned as well. not knowing which way i'm going to go (c-sec vs. vaginal) also has me all over the place.

you are not alone and not crazy! Chat Icon

I felt like this too. The c-section was not bad at all. I had a great experience and I am sure you will too. Sometimes it is easy to get freaked out over a c-section, but it will all be fine, trust me. I freaked out about it and when it actually happened it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually I had a wonderful experience and I would do it again! You can do this. I did not think I could do it and I did it. Feel free to FM me.
