I hate that song if it ever comes on i change it. I once got an email to a cartoon interpretation of it and thought the song was a joke then I heard it on the radio and realized it was real. I am not a fan of its fake sappyness.

I mean cmon..first of all
a kid who knows his moms shoe size?
A kid alone with no parent?
If someone told that story these days EVERYONE would think it a SCAM.
I think its laughable how phony it is.
I cant take the fake sappyness either.

I hate this song. It comes on the radio, I turn the station so fast.
To me, it's NOT a Christmas song and it should NOT be played.
I am sorry. The holidays are supposed to be a happy time...NOT sad.
The song just gets to me. I cannot stand it.

This song came out more than a couple of years ago. Every time I hear it I need to change the station. It's very emotional to me and makes me tear up. My dad passed away in March of 1996 due to cancer. So, songs that emotional like that always get me.

LOVE IT! i am such a sap...
I first received an e-mail with the story way back in 1998 and bawled my eyes out. Then the book the Christmas Shoes came out followed by the song. Then the movie came out (just rented it at Blockbuster!!!) CRY every time!
Rent the movie... or even better, read the book. There is also a sequel book and movie: The Christmas Blessing

i agree. and yes it may be cheesy...but the POINT of the song is very touching and always makes me cry.
