omg, holy uncomfortable and painful internal
how do you girls do it?
I was squirming all over the place because it was so uncomfortable!
she couldn't even tell if i'm dilated or not because the cervix still has not been pushed down and i dont think i made it very easy for the dr!!

My one and only internal with my daughter was painful as heck too. I always wonder why too since a lot of women on here said it was a breeze.
Hopefully the baby will come before you need another one like my daughter.

my dr. said they'd try to limit the amount of internals i'll get at the hospital before getting the epidural!

I have a really high pain threshold and after my first internal at the hospital I almost passed out. The reason why some of them hurt so much is because if you are not dilated or effaced and the doctor tries to 'help you along' or force the issue somewhat, it hurts like you wouldnt believe.
I had 6 or 7 of them in the hospital and I never dilated past 1 cm.

I think it depends on who does it.. I had three in the hospital a few weeks ago. Two very painful and the last one, the midwife was so gentle that i didnt feel a thing. Just like most things i think its whos doing it and how gentle and patient they are.

I had my second today and it wasn't painful but I definitley felt it a lot more than the first one last week.
