ok south shore of nassau ladies...I need your help!
I need your suggestions on a bunch of things now that we will be leaving Queens and heading out to your area. I am going to need
- a pediatrician
- an OB/GYN- although mine is in Lake Success so I may just stay and drive the 30 min. once a year
- a day care (center or in home provider)
- a good mommy & me program- we were signed up for Music Together in Great Neck, but that's too far for us now.
ANY suggestions would be appreciated!

ped. there are 2 good ones on newbridge rd. in bellmore. you have jassey on one side and oppenheimer/ marchitelli on the other. we use oppenheimer, big practice, waits can be long but i like the doctors.
day care ,most people i know here use TLC in merrick on merrick ave. (i'm a sahm so can't give 1st hand experieince)
OB/gyn, cna't help, mine is in huntington.
mommy and me... there are millions of them out this way. pick up a parent pages, or one of the free parenting magazines for nassau county, they advertise in them all the time.

I found a Music Together class offered in Bellmore at K & V dance studio I believe. Has anyone taken a class at this location?
I am also going to look into TLC day care, as well as Alphabetland, Big Chief, and an in home provider in Wantagh. As for ped's, I'll look into Dr. Oppenheimer, I am also going to look into Seaford Pediatrics, which my friend uses.
Keep the ideas coming ladies, Bellmore is not that far from Bayside, but it seems worlds away at the same time! lol

We take Music Together in Massapequa, same people as in Bellmore run it. Love the teacher and the class, not too fond of the administration.
Spanish classes in Westbury and Plainview.
Gymboree at The Source.
Ped. in East Meadow on Merrick Ave.
My OB/GYN is in Great Neck and Woodbury - love him.
We live in Seaford BTW. Welcome to the hood.

I live in Bellmore too. I use Oppenheimer and am ok with them but not sure I 100% recommend them. I also hear good things about the Seaford place you mention above.
My ob - not sure I totally recommend either. I loved my main dr but not the practice and the policies keep changing. If I go for a third I may look to change myself.
I heard great things about the music class on Bedford. I may look into that for my 1 yr old this year. With my oldest son - I have done mommy and me at the MidShore mothers center in Wantagh and recommend that. I also hear good things about the sunrise mothers center which is right behind King Kullen/Applebees near sunrise highway. I did gymnastics at All American Gymnastics on Merrick Rd in Bellmore and recommend that. Not sure how old you child/children are but also did Lil Sluggers baseball (3 yr old program) which runs out of the Newbridge Rd sportsplex in Bellmore (program is thru soccertots).
gotta run baby is waking up....

Thanks!! Music Together is the class on Bedford, I think I am going to sign us up for this. I will also have to look into the Mother's Centers- greay way to meet moms in the area!

We currently use Oppenheimer. I'm eh about them. All in all I like the doctors, but long waits in the waiting room and the exam room IMO.
Last I heard Seaford Pediatrics was closed to new patients except newborns. If you have a newborn in their practice you can then bring your older kids into the practice. But it's been about 2 months since I last asked about it.

I took DS to TLC in Merrick before I became a SAHM, I loved it there and so did DS and as a former day care worker I can be pretty hard to please. I use Dr Silverstein on Merrick Ave as do a bunch of my friends who have older children. I really love him. if you want more info on either one just fm me. welcome

We moved from Bayside in 2006 not too far from Bellmore. 
A pediatrician - we use Dr. Zaso in East Meadow...left Oppenheimer (fm me for details)
OB/GYN -mine is in Manhasset and I never changed - like her too much so I am willing to make the trip there every so often.
Daycare - since we work in Manhattan we chose a center further out west on our route. We did visit TLC, alphabetland and Big Chief. After what we went through in Lynbrook I no longer recommend daycares but if you have any questions on the ones listed I can try to help.
A good mommy & me program - I'm bad with this - I know there is a gymboree in Merrick but otherwise I am no help..sorry.

Daycare-Tutor Time in ER-FM me for info, I'll tell you who to speak to, and you should call asap.
Gymboree in Oceanside, I think there's a Music Together in Long Beach.
GYN-Hirsch in Hewlett, but the rumor is that he may retire soon from OB
