Ok, I have to vent...SIL related
My SIL is looking at buying a house near us in NJ. She tells me last weekend "be prepared for me staying by your house a lot while I look"..um, ok, fine whatever. Then, we didn't hear from her ALL week and I finally (after 3 YEARS of begging) convinced my DH to go to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow. Supposed to be beautiful weather. Well, she emails just now and says, OK, I am coming tomorrow, see you then...without even asking us if we had plans. And now my DH says "I can't tell her no, I don't want to hurt her feelings"..My answer to that was "What about hurting my feelings!!" I have been looking forward to this all week and now it's gone.
It ain't right!!!

I'd let him stay home and go out shopping or do my errands. If I am going to miss out on my plans, then I am going to get something productive done.

I love my SIL as if she was my own blood, so I would be soooo happy that she was coming to spend time with us (even if it was unplanned), do you not really care for her much? Because i think if you were close with her you may feel differently.
p.s- if it makes you feel better, the Bronx zoo will literally be a ZOO tomorrow, you;re better off going during the week, the next few weekends are NUTS there.

Yes we went a few weeks ago and it was a ZOO literally. I didn't enjoy myself at all

I think it does not matter if the plan is to go to the zoo or something else. I think it comes down to accomodating someone who is very rude and does not have any concept of other people's plan. She is only giving 1 day notice and not even asking but "informing" them she is coming.
