ok! i gotta share...this is why customer service can be so stressful!

i got an email assigned to me this morning (like i do most mornings)... this particular participant was requesting information on a loan against her 401(k). she has a loan and wants to know if she can borrow more.

her plan's summary plan description clearly states that she can have only ONE outstanding loan.

i email her letting her know that i've looked into her plan and i even copy-pasted the info.

so i think i'm done... right?...WRONG!!!

she replies to my email with...

(i won't cut and paste the whole thing to protect the "innocent" )

her email start with...

"no cr@p, i knew that when i emailed you but was asking..."

how on earth does this woman expect me to be kind and helpful after she has spoken to me like that???? the email's tone continues to be so "sweet" in her request of information.

makes me want to put her in her place!

I don't envy customer service reps!

that's pretty close to how i wanted to reply!

there is a part of me that is thinking about accidentally forgetting that i have to reply to that email until i come back from a long weekend and an additional two days off for my birthday
