NYS and bereveament leave amendment!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
Just got this email from HR:
"Please be advised that effective October 29, 2010, New York State amended its Civil Rights Law regarding bereavement leave extending funeral or bereavement leave to associates having same-sex committed partners on the death of such partner or the immediate family members of said partner, ie: parent (including stepparent), children (including stepchildren), and siblings."
I think its AWESOME! 
its not enough, but its a step in the right direction!

I think it's great and at the same time, I don't. There shouldn't have had to be an amendment..people should've just be treated equally.

My company already has their own rule on there in which we do extend those rights to same-sex relationships...many to this new law!
