NPR... night out in the city
I love my parenting board so please don't move...
anyway, one of my closest friends is visiting me in a few weeks. Was planning on getting a hotel in the city one night so we can have a "girl's night" like old times when we were roommates...
Any ideas where to stay and what to do?
DH is watching Mason for the night so I can party (b/c it's been a looong time) and sleep late.

LIPS is a fun place.
The Fitzpatrick is a nice hotel. If you want more of a party scene...any of the W hotels are good

it depends on what you want to do/where you want to be.
you want to mix it up down town, dancing at SOB's or tapas bar hoping on the LES.
or you want to hang out on the UES at some pseudo swank joint with a martini watching who is watching you
or you want to take in a show and hob nob at an uber cool but ridiculously expensive roof top bar.
oh, and how much are you willing to pay per night....

Thanks Ladies... I guess I'll narrow it down more
We were roommates in Hoboken for a few years b4 she moved to Chicago for work and then I got closer with DH and eventually wound up here on LI
we've done the SATC tour and did the show thing.
Just a fun dinner and drinks. Social scene I guess
Has anyone been to Stanton Social?
Doesn't need to be ridiculously expensive.
Fun place to laugh, catch up and be silly girls and have fun
Was thinking the W in Hoboken, but it's expensive and we figured the city would be good.

stanton social was yummy. we liked it.
I had a great time at thom bar in the thompson hotel. Its got fun music and also has some good food.

the NYT just did a review of ny boutique hotels that were not too pricey--i would check their website since its probably still up
