NPR: house vent and prayers needed
Dh and I are in contract on a house. we've been in contract since September. We have a commitment that expires on Friday. Our bank is Wells Fargo and they are being nothing but a pain in the a**. We have one condition left before we close. Its to get a roof certificate to make sure that the roof is not leaking, but in order to do this we need to sign a contract with a roofer and put down a down payment for them to do the roof when we move in. So basically the bank is asking us to put money down to get a new roof put on a house we do not even own yet! I am so frustrated and stressed out by this. The bank is stalling for some reason. All of the roofers we have spoken to have never heard of such a thing. I am so fed up and really upset by all this. DH and I are living with my parents right now and we just really want to be out on our own before our LO is born in May. Please send some prayers that everything works out soon! Thanks. see if you can put a clause in the contract with the roofer that the deal is contingent upon closing on the house

We've tried everything but the bank wont budge. My broker is gonig to try and talk to them again today and hopefully figure something out so we're not stuck putting down a down payment for work on a house we do not own! Its just so frustrating and the bank has been nothing but a pain in the a**. He have done everything they have asked of us and they keep adding more on. Its just a nightmare!

Also the roofers will not sign something and put down their license number if they are not going to get the job and they want some sort of monetary not jsut writing on a piece of paper.

Wells Fargo really sucks. My dad died last October and his mortgage was through Wells Fargo and until money started coming into the estate...via bank accounts, ira, sale of things, etc, there was no money to pay to mortgage, those things take time to get access to and the second we did we made a large mortgage payment but they were relentless. They called threatening us at all times of the day, sent us nasty letters etc even after I explained the death of our father. It was horrible and gut wrenching. Thank the Lord that the house sold quick and we didn't have to deal with them anymore but after that experience, I will never deal with Wells Fargo in the future.
I am sorry for what you are going through, I hope things move along faster for you and you get in your home.

OMG that is horrible! Yeah they really do suck! Im glad were not the only ones that they are horrible too! I already told my Dh that once we get this house I went to start looking into refinancing because I cannot even stomach the thought of giving these people my hard earned money after they have put us through hell and back!

I know how incredibly stressful and frustrating dealing with this can be! We just closed last April and the process was pretty ridiculous. We ended up doing "work" on the house to get it pass bank inspection before it was even ours!!! Absurd.
I hope things straighten out for you!

Thanks! Supposedly my real estate agent had another house with the same issue so my mortgage broker and attorney are trying to straighten it out hopefully soon! Tahnks everyone for your suggestions and prayers. I really appreciate it!
