If it makes you feel better, my daughter was invited to a birthday party right after Christmas. She went on & on about how lucky the girl is because whatever she doesn't get for Christmas, she can get for her party.
Then she told me it's the perfect week for a birthday party because she gets to see her friends during the break for her party.

My son's birthday is Christmas Eve and I have been worried about his day getting lumped in with Christmas. I have spoken with a bunch of people who have a birthday that week, (including some on Christmas Eve and Chirstmas Day) and NONE of them felt that they missed out! They all said that his/her parent made it special. Some of the people I spoke with celebrated in the summer, some on the day, but they never felt slighted.
It made me feel better :) We are making a tradition of having a birthday cake at our Christmas Eve party, and then having a party at another date. When he is old enough I will let him choose if he would like to celebrate in Dec or in June

My little cousin has his bday party in January, he was born day after christmas, it has worked out really nicely so far.

My SD birthday is Christmas. She was born at 4:55pm.
at 4pm, we would start the transformation. Christmas tablecloth came off and birthday decorations went up. Gifts were wrapped in birthday paper, not Christmas and a seperate birthday cake was done completely seperate from Christmas dessert.
Christmas decorations went back the next day.
She never told me she felt jipped. As she got older, if she asked for a combined gift she would get it, but it was never assumed.

My DS is the 20th and my DH is the 21st.
So my DH is adamant about DS not being jipped. Not that DH ever was.
DS is only 2 but DH is 33 so we try to do a birthday party the weekend before christmas and I do more decorating (in my dining room) than I normal would for just a little family party.
I also try to make sure quantity wise I spend what I would on DS and DH's birthday even if they were in June...
Its hard but DH doesnt feel he was short changed so it can be done

I never got jipped as a kid -
My parties were always done early or late - but as a kid I NEVER got jipped -
As an adult, that's a different story -

DS's birthday is about 2 weeks before Christmas. His first birthday fell over Chanukah, which we also celebrate. He got/will get separate gifts for everything.
he's only 1, but when he's older, I don't want him to feel like he's missing out.
