Now I ain't saying she a golddigga but...
What would YOU think from the outside looking in:
Young woman, (early 30's) with an 8 yr old daughter meets well-off Dr who lives modestly (he's got money but definitely does NOT flaunt it). He's in the middle of building himself a sick house on the water (well deserved) but nothing really outrageous either.
She insists that they get engaged after just a few months of dating or she will not move in with him. Once she does move in with him, she takes over the house - refurnishes and totally redecorates with lavish decor. She gets herself a sparkly new Benz, while he continues to happily drive his 3 yr old SUV. Not to mention iceberg that sank the Titanic that she wears on her finger which she picked out. She works part-time at his practice. The 8 yr old is walking around saying "I'm going to Harvard because 'Stepdad' is going to pay for it". Fiancee just got a nice gift from the good Dr.: a really nice boob job. Let me clarify - she ASKED for it as a gift.
If you ask the Dr about the wedding plans his answer is "just because you are engaged doesn't mean you have to married". 
Now, Miss Thing just got "accidentally" pregnant (Dr did not want any more kids). And she is having a grand ole time hiring decorators and designers to outfit the new million dollar estate. Example - she purchased some really expensive couches only to reupholster them with MORE expensive fabric.

ETA: he doesn't exactly smell like a rose with that comment either. maybe they deserve eachother?

My thoughts exactly!!! 18 years, 18 years... she's got one of your kids - got you for 18 years!!!
Honestly I think he is a good guy...he just hates being alone (always has to have a GF) and therefore lets the women spend all his money.
He should have had learned his lesson from his first wife who went to college on his dime, even went abroad to study, found herself a European dude, ran off with him and took everything that wasn't bolted down when she left!

He seems like a decent nice guy. A doctor, lives modestly and doesnt flaunt his money. He seems content in what he has but she on the other hand just loves to spend his money. I think total selfish golddigga and he is blind to her acts. I think she needs to get a kick out to the curb and that guy needs to find a woman who loves him and appreciates him for who he is and not what is in his bank account.
He needs to say NO to her and tell her go to school become a doctor and pay for all those things yourself.

He's not blind to her acts if he's saying just because she has a ring, doesn't mean he's going to marry her.
Sounds like a match made in heaven - but in the end, if I were him I'd be locking up my assets in trusts with my kids.
