Not to beat a dead horse with this change making thing...

BUT

I bought something today that cost $2.70. I handed the cashier 2 singles, 2 quarters and 2 dimes and she said:

"NO. $2.70."

To which I replied "You are what we called Incompetus Boobus. LOOK AGAIN."

I give up.

But I felt it, I REALLY REALLY REALLY felt it. I know what happens to people when they have mental breakdowns and psychotic episodes and frankly I did not want to spend my anniversary in lockdown.

Re: Not to beat a dead horse with this change making thing...

in all fairness though, i'm glad you didn't

it would've kinda made you look like an a$$ - and you're better than that

we all have the old proverbial brain fart once in a while

you have to figure this woman makes change all day - looking at that many coins day in and day out - you're bound to make a mistake - or think a nickel looks like a dime, or something like that

doesn't make her uneducated or incompetent, it could have just been an isolated mistake.

Thats' true- and I occasionaly give the cashier the wrong amount, but usually realize it right after I hand it to him/her.

But I would have been tempted to ask her what she thought I gave her. Just out of curiosity. . .

Leslie, you should pay for all your cash purchases with coins from now on, so the cashiers of the world get some practice counting them!. Chat Icon

Hmmm... just like when I went to the supermarket last Sunday and there were 2 (approx) 17 year old boys talking about the super bowl and the one said:
"Where is New England anyway?"

The other one said "I don't know, up somewhere."

The first one said "So, it's a state, right?"

REminds me of when we were in DC, and a teenager asked what state we were in. To which I replied, none. So she yelled back and me, it has to be. So I said, no, its's not, look it up. By then we are halfway down the block and she is yelling "it has to be a state." and all her friends are laughing at me, the idiot. kind of sad, really. Chat Icon

That's like the time we were taking our dog for a walk down the block and we come across 2 HS girls walking in the opposite direction but on the same side of the street. So as we get closer we hear one of them say something about Denver and the other asks:

"Denver, where is that??"

"I don't know, Colorado I think"

We had the hardest time keeping a straight face until we passed, THEN we turned around and gave them an incredulous look!!!!! Chat Icon

I understand that the change thing could have been a total brain fart, but really, what are they teaching kids these days? Chat Icon

I have a better one for you - I was at Dairy Barn buying a water, which was 2 dollars... I handed her the 2 dollars, and she said -"
