Not changing my name at SS is screwing me!
So yea...ive been too lazy to go down and change my last name at SS...
Well I reg for school for the end of the month...and I usually take out student loans...and you cant get a loan until youve been denied for financial Aid (which I know I wont get a penny  ) ANYWAY... I filled out the fafsa paper...and yesterday I get a letter saying Marissa W is using Marissa C's ss# and it needs to be corrected...
Grrrr...I guess of to the SS office I go on monday

I was just down in the register office and they said this wont be a problem. Have you had them change the name on your degree or transcripts?
oh wait I missed that you didnt go to SS yes you have to do that. They go by SS# not name so that has to match.

I used to work at a college so I know this can be a problem. Every since 9/11, the gov't looks for name/SS# consistency. Good luck!
