Normally I am a semi-patient person
We had a new person start TWO weeks ago. They have yet gotten any momentum towards contributing anything and we've invested a decent amount of time trying to get him situated.
It is not my job to help him out but I always try to help someone in need.
I guess I'm just irked that he hasn't thanked one person here since he started 
If you can't tell, manners go a LONG way with me.
If you can't say "hello" or "please" and "thank you", don't even bother asking me for anything.

OMG...I HEAR ya! I'm in the QC dept at my company which also gets into training. I spent MONTHS...approx 3 with someone...THREE MONTHS!!!!...and one days she decided to not show up and quit.
Talk about a waste of time...
I wondered after the first 5 mins if she was going to make it...
