Nook-ers; what kind of case

Forgive me if this is a dup thread but I couldn't find anything...

What kind of case do you have for your nook?

I was underwhelmed with B&N's selection and overwhelmed by their prices for the crap I thought they were offering Chat Icon They didn't really seem too secure with just a clip or two holding it in.

I like this one (not sure about which color) but I worry that it seems bulky on the inside (yet very secure)

Cherry Blossom Nook Case

I was considering just a neoprene case but then I worry about screen/drop damage. I need to stop worrying.

The case I posted above also has a flip over version, which comes with a stand. Do you guys prefer the book type case, or the 'flip over the top' case?

TIA!

Re: Nook-ers; what kind of case

I got this one:

Bronte cover

It's great, I really wanted one that opened like a book, and it's very sturdy. I love the one you posted too, I think that would work fine.

The prices are high but they seem to protect the nook really well so I think it's worth it.

Re: Nook-ers; what kind of case

I also got a "book" type cover. I did not want a slide in and out. Too annoying for me.

I got that one in black leather.

ETA: That cover had the "slide in" in the inside portion and 2 "elastics" on top. It holds the Nook perfectly! No move or readjusting.

Re: Nook-ers; what kind of case

Thanks.

They are both very nice, but I really like that black one. Also it is neutral so if DH wants to take it with him for something he wouldn't feel odd. (I flip between wanting something funky and something neutral..)

They didn't have that one in my B&N store - and by looking at availability they don't have it at very many stores at all.

For the black one - how does the closure work? Is there an elastic to close the whole thing, a magnet or snap? I don't see anything in the pic? That's why I hate buying online, I'd really like to fondle it before I purchase Chat Icon

I'll continue searching for a few more days before I decide, so I'm open to more suggestions!!

The one LB posted comes in back too. It's like a canvas type fabric. And you can insert any picture in the frame opening in the front.

The black one I posted is leather.

They both don't have a closure. You just "fold it" to close it. Just like a book.

They did have have one in back with a "snap" and one with an elastic (like a journal type). The one with the elastic was very "plain". The one with the snap was nice but I felt I did not want to "push" on the Nook underneath to close the snaps.

I went to Carle Place to get mine. They had a nice selection of cover there.

Thanks. I'll be waiting on this because I just saw the announcement that they are a) lowering the price and b) offering a 150.00 wifi only nook at the end of this week. (And I just bought it YESTERDAY!)

Sorry Mr. Nook, you're going back to the store.

You have 14 days to return it. If you want to keep the 3G capability, ask them maybe they'll do a price adjustment for you.

Re: Nook-ers; what kind of case

I got this case from BN
Nook Cover

I like the pockets on the side, I keep my library card and book recommendations from magazines there for when I am looking for a new book.

I know... I called Corporate and the store. The store will not do a price adjustement. I will have to return it. That's stupid IMO!!!!

Call customer support again. Reading NookBoards.com it seems that plenty of people have called customer support and they have given them a 10 dollar giftcard to make up the difference on the new price.

Re: Nook-ers; what kind of case

I have this case:

A good book is the best of friends...

and I love it! It's super lightweight, keeps the nook very secure, and allows me full access to the buttons on the side. I also love the pockets and the fact that i can prop it up if i wanted to.

Re: price adjustments --- I'm really surprised that they won't give credits if you are still in your 14 day window. I purchased mine just under 1 month ago, and then a few days later they came out with the $50 gift card. Since I was still inside the 14 day return policy the store just wrote a note on my original receipt and gave me a $50 gc. There were no problems!

LOVE the nook!
