...no hope for me this month?...

I'm borderline depressed....I had an appointment yesterday with Dr. B for monitoring and I produced only one follicle with Femara and was 14mm - he said that with Femara it's normal to produce only 1 or 2 follicles. He said to have intercourse on Sunday (in case ovulation happens) and go back to his office on Monday to see what's going on. Sunday will be CD11, which has been the day that I've been ovulating on my own for the past 2 months (this is my first cycle with an RE). And this is exactly what I've feared from the begining - that I will ovulate before Dr. B will have a chance to do the IUI. Monday it will be too late Another whole cycle will go to waste because of bad timing - because I will probably ovulate on my own during the weekend.... I am very dissapointed that if I ovulate during the weekend all my hopes for this month go down the drain... Regular intercourse hasn't worked for us for a whole year and a half... why would it work this weekend?.... Is this what happens normally? If you ovulate on your own during the weekend everything goes down the drain for that month?

Try not to get upset yet. Can you email Dr. B and let him know you think you will ovulate this weekend. Did he know you prefered to have the IUI.... I am assuming they do not have weekend hours?? Sorry- I am not familiar with the IUI of IVF procedure. But I am assuming some women will need the procedure on weekends.


Monday morning may still be enough time for the IUI, if you ovulate sometime on Sunday afternoon.

i'm so sorry but if you get a smiley face first on sunday, then monday should still be ok, right?

i go to North Shore and they are open on the weekends for IUIs and IVF cycles. i think they are only closed 2 days a year there!

I actually don't have advice here but I wanted to say that one follie with femara is still a very good response! On my first cycle on femara (2.5mg) I produced NOTHING!! NADA!! So one is good!!

i would call or email him and tell him you want to come in on saturday too. unless he is out of the office this saturday...

but i would think if you have a 14mm follie today that he thinks you wont O til monday if thats when he told you to come in. if you O on sunday evening youre prob still OK monday morning.

i tested with an OPK on sunday got a smiley. i called the on call nurse since i was scheduled for monitoring on monday. she told me to go straight to office for an IUI on Monday morning. right now on 2 ww... we shall see..

did he give you an emergency number or after hours nurse?
