No FMLA for me. What is everyone using for their maternity leave, how long will you be out for?
Just missed FMLA eligibility by 30 hours 
I'm so upset. I'm only entitled to a 30 day not job protected personal leave and vacation time which I'm not sure how much I have. The company I work for recently changed my role thus changing how much vacation time I have. They said they will get back to me and let me know. I have three more weeks to go. I'm so ****** at my company's HR departemnt right now not only for not knowing how much vacation I'm entitled to but many other things.
What are you using for your maternity leave, how long will you be out for?

I will be physically out of my office for 12w & only using the NYS disability for my first 6-8 weeks. My boss was nice enough to work something out with me where I will work from home (all but 2 weeks) & get paid my salary. DH & I are thrilled bc I work for a small company & not entitled to FMLA.

I will be out for 12 weeks. I will get paid 100% of my salary for 6-8 weeks of STD (depending on my delivery) and then with the way my due date falls and the vacation time policy of my company, I will use 2 more weeks of vacation time. I may end up with 4 weeks unpaid leave for the last 4 weeks of the FMLA.
ETA: I live and my work is based in NJ, so we have something new that started this month called the NJ Family Medical Leave Act. I will actually get 6 weeks paid leave during my FMLA after my STD runs out where I can get paid up to $524 a week. This will help so that I don't have 4 weeks unpaid.

I plan to be out of work for 8 weeks. I work for a small company also so I'm just getting NYS disability. If I choose not to go back to work during my maternity leave do I still qualify for disability? Or does that change?

Baby #1 I was out for 6 mos, and baby #2 I will be out for only 6 weeks.

You may not be entitled to FMLA but you are still entitled to NYS Disability by law. 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery and 8 weeks for a c-section. I dont think they can fire you during that time...but I could be wrong. Our maternity laws are so f'd up here.

I am going to be out 12 weeks. I will collect from disability through my union.
NYS disability changed and they cover vaginal 8 weeks and c-section for 12 weeks.

I sort of know how you feel. While I am eligible for FMLA, we just can't afford for me to take any unpaid leave.
I'll only be out for 6 weeks - and will try to have as much of that paid as possible (hoping some falls over Christmas break and then using all of my sick days)

I switched offices and lost all FMLA rights. I don't think it was fair but it happened. I ended up being out for 6 months and got disability and used money from savings.

Just an FYI... FMLA and disability run concurrently... so you get a total of 12 weeks. Not 6 weeks plus 12 weeks.
