Night Terrors

DS has slept through the night since he was 2 weeks old now he is waking almost every hour. I really don’t think its from teething because he is waking screaming all while his eyes are still closed and he only does this when he is sleeping at night. During the day he is fine. He goes back to sleep after about 5 minutes but this is happening almost every hour during the night.

A couple of you had mentioned it sounds like night terrors. How long does this usually last for? I work full time and I can’t keep my eyes open at my desk.

Sophie did this 2 nights ago - woke up screaming - like this high pitched scream. We picked her up, her eyes were closed and she went back to sleep. It was so scary!

Jake is 27 months and has been doing this since DecemberChat Icon . I can't remember the last time I got a good nights sleep. I don't even go into his room anymore, just let him cry it out and fall back asleep on his own.

Waking every hour or so is not night terrors. I'll post some of my night terror info here later. I have it saved on my other computer. Here is a quick description of NT.........flailing,uncontrolled like the Exorcisist movie. Sreaming, eyes open, looking like an out of body experience and not truly awake. Lasting from about 7-20 minutes. If it is NT YOU KNOW it, because it is horrible to watch your child go through this. Even though the child does not remember it. You do!

How old is your child? Bad ear ache? Which hurts worse when lying down. Or perhaps sinus infection? Or fluid in the ears. The pressure would hurt much more when lying down
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Night Terrors

Woah that is scary. He will be 5 months on the 7th. From what your saying its not that. But please do post your info. I am hoping its just from teething but I couldnt understand why it was only happening while he was sleeping at night. He took two naps during the day yesterday in his swing and was fine. He even gave me trouble going to sleep last night which he has never done.

I don't think he is sick. He was just at the doctor on Thursday for three shots and I think she checked his ears.
