Nieghbors Tree service damaged my fence.
Anyone ever had to deal with something like this? Our Backyard neighbor who hasn't even moved in yet had a tree service come in and remove some trees in doing so they put a hole in my PVC fence. We met the lady that owns the house (very nice) and she gave us the companies number. I called them that day and they said they would come the next morning (today) to inspect the damage. 12 pm rolls around no one shows so I call them again and get a different person on the phone and he had no clue so he told me to take some pics and send it to his cell. I have not heard from him since although he said he would take care of it. I am going to give till tomorrow. Is there anything else I can do?

is the company insured? If so then you have to really take it up with them. If not then take it up with whoever technically owns the house if they are nice they should pay for it or put it through their home owners insurance.

I'm not sure but what about calling the police to have them fill out an accident report?
Have you contacted your insurance company?

Should that be the new owners responsibility to deal with them? They were on HER property doing work for HER.

Hmm...would you really call your insurance for this? I know alot of insurance companies have issues with smaller claims, esp if you are a new policy holder.
I would def take it up with the new hoemowner....and make her get on the companys case.

Hmm...would you really call your insurance for this? I know alot of insurance companies have issues with smaller claims, esp if you are a new policy holder.
I would def take it up with the new hoemowner....and make her get on the companys case.
Yeah, she needs to get on the companies case because she hired them.

Um... i'll stop you right there. You didn't hire the company. SHE did. So SHE should be calling them.

You don't want to bring this up with your insurance company for a number of reasons. Avoid this. Go after the neighbor.
This is what you do. You get an estimate from a fence company to repair the broken piece of PVC. You present it to your neighbor. Give them a copy. Let them get the money from the tree company. The tree company may also attempt to repair/replace the fence.
But IMO you shouldn't be dealing with the tree company unless you already made arrangements with the neighbor that the tree company will be doing the repairs.

Just wanted to update. The tree company came and fixed the fence for us on Thursday. They did a great job. I'm so relieved. I thought this was going to turn into an ordeal.
