Newsday Daily Deals - Groupon selling emails?

Newsday Daily Deals - Groupon selling emails?
Has anyone started getting 'Newsday Daily Deals' emails this week? They look exactly like Groupon. I'm thinking that Groupon is either selling email addresses or rebranding their site for outside companies.
I don't subscribe to newsday, so they can't have my email from that.
I never signed up for a newsday alert or put in my email on their site.
I do have Optimum, but they aren't sending to my optimum address, they are sending to my gmail address which isn't tied to my Optimum account.
So that only leaves Groupon either rebranding or reselling names.

yes! I started getting them too and can't think of what I did to get them. I don't get the groupon things tho...
