newborn sleep patterns -question?

DD is five and half weeks now but at four weeks was sleeping between 3-5 hrs in the night with out waking until she was hungry but this week she is going every 3 hrs again and waking in between her feedings crying. i pick her up and she stops. i rock her to sleep but as soon as i put her down again she cries. im frustrated bc she was doing so great last week. has anyone experienced this?? is this normal? TIA

Sounds like she is hungry- probably a growth spurt.

My DD did this. Around 6 weeks. I was thinking it was a growth spurt also. She would wake up and then she would not go back to sleep. One night I was up from 2:30 on.

Not sure though. She still isnt sleeping that great, but we are able to put her to sleep. It takes a while but she ends up going back down.

there are growth spurts at around 3 and 6 weeks... plus, their little bodies are just getting used to life on the outside. when you see DC doing something routine-like, its bound to change soon LOL i know how frustrating it can be too!
