New Years Eve Dinner

So DH just informed me that his dad will be working until 7pm on NYE, so they wont be getting to our house until around 9pm.

I was planning on making a turkey, but now Im not sure I should. Originally planned on eating by 7 so I would have everything cleaned up and dessert served so I would have time to spend with everyone before the ball drops.

Do you think I should just make it or make something else? Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks!

Re: New Years Eve Dinner

is anyone else coming? Are they coming earlier? If so, make turkey and save some for your inlaws for when they come, if in case.
Or ask them if they feel like eating dinner at 9pm, have the turkey then and desert around midnight.
Or make the turkey for just you and hubby and then later at 9 when they come, have just pickings and desert - pigs in the blanket, crackers, dips, veggies, shrimp, mini pizzas...

Enjoy <3

Re: New Years Eve Dinner

My dad will be here also but thats it...Do you think it would be wrong to just cook the turkey earlier in the day and then his folks can just reheat when they get here?

I can then also put out some appetizer food like veggies and dips, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs for us to munch on for the rest of the night?

Also do you think I should add any sides? Maybe just some baked potatoes and I can just have them put their own toppings on?

Also, we are having lasagna for dinner on Xmas so Im trying to switch it up.:)

Thanks!
