New Parking Lot for the Ronkonkoma Train Station
Very interesting....I wonder if they are going to pave over the parking lot thats a dirt lot now or if there are making a whole new lot??
RONKONKOMA: Contract awarded to design lot for LIRR parking

MTA officials have awarded a contract to design a 325-space parking lot at the LIRR's Ronkonkoma station to a Manhattan-based architecture/engineering company.
The design portion of the project, for the north side of the station, is to be completed next spring by HDR/Daniel Frankfurt, the officials said.
The lot will be maintained by the Town of Brookhaven.
The construction will include new drainage, asphalt paving, striping, sidewalks and curbs, signage, lighting, fencing and landscaping.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the third quarter of next year, officials said, adding that it would take about a year to complete.
The lot will cost $3.9 million and it will bring to 6,095 the number of parking spaces available at the station.

sweet, but its on the north side, so it won't effect me, but hopefully it will make others park on the north. I know the south side is so packed in! Gotta love commuting.

Have you noticed how PACKED the lots seem to be?? We have been commuting for 5 years now from that station and its getting worse and worse. I get off the train at night and people are parcked ALL over the place...even up by the paltforms...where its a one hour parking only....
