New Idea For an Emergency Contact Number
im sure you all have SOMEONE who is listed SOMEWHERE as your emergency contact number.... what if they are not home, or do not answer?
not sure who has heard of Google's Voice service yet.. but ive been using it for a few months now and LOVE it!!! You can go look up the features in detail on your own...
One of the coolest things ive seen is the ability to have one phone call ring multiple numbers at the same time!
for instance, if DW calls me google number not only does my celll ring, but so does my desk phone at work and my home phone!
so with that said, you could set up a google voice number and have it ring EVERYONE you would consider as an emergency contact person at the same time.....

Looks cool. Just reserved a number for myself, and I'm going to play around with it. I think another good use is for DC's school. They want contact #s to call us if there's an emergency, or something related to DS and school. Now, they call home, then my work, then DW's cell, then my cell. It look like if I set this up right, they just need one number, and it will call all of our numbers.

ive never tried picking up my cell and work phone at the EXACT same time.. but the probability of that happening is probably rare... i think its the first one to pick up gets the call.

Another emergency info consideration- most cell phones have an ICE (In Case of Emergency) option to list a contact name. DH and I also list the medications we take, allergies to medications, and our doctor's contact info in the Notes section.

My DH and i use google voice. The main reason we use it is because the area code for our cell phones is different from where we live and it always causes confusion since we do not have a house phone.
