Why don't they just take it one step further and ban drinking alltogether. Make it a "dry state".

Honestly, they've done the same thing in VA. Drunk in public... I remember articles in the post about it 2 or 3 christmas' ago. They were going into bars and arrenting people for being drunk it public...
I mean, i understand if they're wandering the streets drunk (i know at least 5 or 6 people from college who have gotten arrested for DIP, and wound up in the drunk tank). But yeah, they were actually arresting people in the bars.

DH was telling me about this and I didn't believe him
There has to be more than what they are telling us. Like, they arrest the people who are drunk with intent to drive or something. The point is to stop so much drunk driving and unfortunately, in places like that, the only way to get to and from the bar is to drive.

I don't know about texas... but i know in va they were actually going into bars and just arresting the really drunk people. the story was specifically about this guy who was dressed in a santa outfit and like dancing on a chair or something...
