New and very worried *update on bottom*

Hello Ladies,
I have been lurking for a while and feel like this might be a good place to ask. I had a miscarriage after my first iui (for unexplained fertility) in May. I had my second iui almost two weeks ago. I tested positive on a digital yesterday. This morning I woke up with horrible cramps generated from my left side, almost as bad as my miscarriage cramps were. I thought i might be getting my period but then I got so dizzy I almost passed out, sweating through my clothes, almost threw up. I checked for bleeding but had none. DH sat with me and it went away about 15 minutes later and other than a slight dull ache, hasn't come back. I am terrified I am having an ectopic pregnancy and that i might not be bleeding from the progesterone. I called RE's office and no response yet. DH thinks it's gas or stomach upset. Has anyone else had this happen?? I am sick to my stomach at this point. Any help would be appreciated!!

New a very worried

I had pretty bad cramps at the beginning of this pregnancy - it's really important to drink lots of water!!!! Dehydration will cause cramping (as will drinking too much water, as I learned very early). Wait until you hear back from your RE, they might bring you in for a sono, but if you just got your BFP, there's not much of a chance of seeing anything on a sono (usually can't see anything until middle of 5 weeks).

Good luck! I know it's hard not to think the worst.

Thank you for responding! I didn't eat very well yesterday and have been so thirsty so I pray you are right, the fact that the pain generates from my left side through my belly button is what is freaking me out the most. I hope the office calls me back soon...

I would think it's implantation you are feeling. They can and did cause severe cramping with me; beyond a period; just different.

I hope you are right. The RE office called back and said to come in if the pain starts up again but it sounded like it could be implantation like you ladies said and that it would, although not impossible, but more than likely be too early for pain like that to happen as a result of ectopic pregnancy. I am going for my first Beta on Saturday. I know I didn't invent the pain but I guess I am being ultra paranoid. I just don't want to go through the pain of a loss again. Thank you for making me feel better ladies Chat Icon Chat Icon

New and very worried

Just remember that in pregnancy it's completely normal to feel cramps as your body makes way for the growing uterus & baby. Just wait until the second trimester with round ligament pain!

I wouldn't worry about ectopic yet at all. The embryo is still microscopic. It's too tiny to stretch out your tube and make you feel pain. It might be gas. I had terrible gas pains the day of my bfp. Congratulations on the bfp and good luck and sticky dust to you! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Oh, and I agree with one of the posters above: implantation hurts! I've felt implantation twice, both around CD 10, but I know that the embryo burrows in deeper every few days for a few weeks. The second time I felt it it was such a sudden, sharp pain, I lost my breath for a moment. I hope it's that for you. I've had several miscarriages, and being pregnant again is so scary. I just have to hope that this time is better than the last and that my doctors have the best course of action as they're helping me. Wishing you the same. Chat Icon

Thanks SummerMom! I ate a lot of junk food yesterday so I'm hoping that could be it. I am also wondering if it could be the progesterone suppositories. I guess I'm just stuck on how awful I felt and out of a dead sleep. Hopefully it's one of these things. It's hard not to think the worst. I have to try to change my mind set, especially if I want a happy, healthy Chat Icon I am sorry it took me so long to post here. It feels good to have support. Chat Icon

Re: New and very worried

So I just had my first pregnancy sono and they saw one sac but no yolk sac yet. I am 5w 1d. I had a blighted ovum the last time so I am now paranoid it will happen again (even though RE said the chances are significantly less of that happening). The doctor said it is probably too early to see a yolk sac and to come back in a week. I am glad there was no sign of an ectopic but I am still a wreck. I feel like I should be so happy and all I feel is scared! Not to mention the waiting is killing me. Anyone else in this boat? Chat Icon

At 5w1d just seeing the sac was a good sign. I bet by next week you will see so much more!

I hope so, I have been crying all morning like a nut. I don't know if its hormones, nerves or both.

I saw a yolk at 4w6d but was told that is very rare. Kofinas does a sono around 5w looking only for a sac, yolk was a bonus but most don't at that stage he said. You should see it next week. I know how hard it is to wait :( I

I am doing ok thank you for asking!
We had our 2nd sono yesterday and saw a yolk sac but no fetal pole but the doctor said that was progress so I will take it! The tech thought she saw something but couldn't recapture it and seemed to think I implanted late. Not sure how to even know that but those few days make a difference. I had some weird vaginal pressure on Sunday. The doctor told me to hydrate more and as long as I wasn't bleeding it was fine. This is such a roller coaster ride. I get happy they see one thing but worry because they don't see something else. I obsess about what is going to happen on my next visit, replay the moment the doctor told me I was going to miscarry in my mind. Then I am really dumb and google! LOL! I really just have to try harder to stay calm, breathe and maybe just have more faith.

How are you doing?? When is your 2ww over?Chat Icon
