I put in fishing hooks, a bag of truffles, and a gift cert. to Starbucks.

I love putting scratch-offs in his stocking. Also maybe that latest shaver (Mach 14 or whatever they are up to! ) and a body spray.

I usually put lotto tickets, toothbrush, underwear, candy, gum, some gadgety thing -- in the past it's been a small battery operated screwdriver or a tire pressure gauge, potatoe soup mix, CD's or DVD's. A coupon book of dates and such that he can redeem.
