Need ideas on how to tell parents...
Hi! I'm new to the board, however, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks.
DH & I got the BFP from the doctor's office yesterday. My first sono is scheduled for the end of the month and being that my parents live about 350 miles away, I want to tell them after the appt but not over the phone. Any ideas?

CONGRATS!!
You should tell them on labor day!
We gave my IL's a present...we wrapped up the book "chicken soup for the grandparents soul" and they got the hint when they opened it!
I told my mom while in church, after mass (she's really religious and kept telling me she was praying for me to get preggo!)
My Dad I just told over the phone b/c he was in florida.

If you can scan in yoru sono pic you can do a really neat slide show on www.onetruemedia.com
I would pick a sentimental song, insert pics of you and your DH and then put the cono pic as the last picture. I think that would be a great way to tell!

Do you have any pets?
I made a t-shirt for my dog that said "I'm going to be a big brother!"
You could do that and mail it to them.

Baby Fortunoffs had a cute frame that said "Surprise" and you put in your sono picture. They were cheap. We did one for my parents and one for in-laws.

I got an "I love my grandma" mug for my mom and mil. I gave it to my mom on her b-day and since it was early January, I gave it to mil and said that it was a last minute christmas gift. They loved it.
I got them at babies r us. I don't see them online, but they look like this:

Grandparent's Day is September 9th this year....you can surprise them with something that day...they would never suspect.

They loved it!
