Need help with shoe and clothing size!

What is a size 2 in pants? On the scale of a toddler vs child.

What is a size 1 shoe?

For reference DS wears a 3T and size 8W shoe.

TIA

Hey Sophie!

I am not sure I understand the question - so forgive me if I answer wrong.

A 3T is just that. It doesn't translate into a youth child size. I think they start crossing when he hits 5t mark - at that point the T is usually a little shorter in length than the plain '5' without the T (youth size). I'm pretty sure there is no 'youth' vs. 'toddler' sizes before 5. So a 2T or a 2 should be the same - a 3T and a 3 should be the same. There may be slight variations in length.. but you always deal with that to some extent when moving between manufacturers.

As to shoes - an 8 is an 8 - next is a 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. 1 is the size that comes after 13 in youth sizing. Then it goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I *THINK* youth sizes stop around 5 and that's when you go to adult sizes.

Thanks! That was helpful I got confused that a 2 in clothing would be another size scale like a size 2 in shoes.

So a size 2 is just a 2 yo size.

I got what you said about the shoes.

Thanks again! That did help!

!

Generally speaking a size 2T and a size 2 youth should be roughly the same. Obviously a size 2 for adults (as found in a ladies department would be considerably different!Chat Icon Of course you'd still want to have him try on the clothes to make sure they don't run big or small!

Good luck!

I've found that size 2T is for younger kids. My understanding for the "T" part is in pants they leave room for diapers.

Im not sure really in respect to boys sizes....

But a girls size 4 shoe is a women's 6. (A size 3 is a 5)...

Im not sure if there is any overlap in boys clothing though...
