Need help with B-day party and food.

Ok- I am having my ds bday party out at the LI Science Center in Riverhead. I'm having it from 1-3. The food situation is the problem. You bring in your own food. My ds does not eat pizza. So obviously not fair to get pizza for everyone else and then McDonalds for just him. It is too expensive to buy McDonalds for every kid ($4.09 for a happy meal x 23 kids then plus parents) Would it be alright to not serve food? I figured i could have snacks around for the kids and then they'll have their cake.

Is that tacky? Would you put something like "Snacks and cake" to be served on the invite? I'm clueless. HONEST opinions please! TIA!!

If the time of the party is 1-3, it's between lunch and dinner. I think you could get away with just snacks and drinks and cake.

ITA. As long as it's on the invite, it's OK. Some parties have a late lunch at 1pm, but it's not common. I would assume there was no "real" food from 1-3, but just mention it.
