(NEED HELP FAST PLZ!) Infant carseat *not in center*?

my dh installed our snugride infant carseat on the passenger side of my civic but it does NOT seem sturdy to me. you can rock the seat from side to side a bit. is that normal?

i have a shoulder/lap belt but he says the clip doesn't fit.

the firemen and police in our area don't check the carseats anymore and the "professional" guy that installed it when i had ds isn't available.

i have ds#2 on THURSDAY!

can you tell me if your infant carseat is very tight to the seat, can it move around (side to side and lift up a bit)? any tips on what to do?

lifting up is norm

side to side is a bad install.... it should do this hardly at all!

No. The base is not installed properly. I would FM LIF member "CarSeatSafety," who has been installing car seats for about 12 years and has recently come to the board to answer many questions. I am sure he could point you in the right direction for someone to properly install your infant base. It is not safe now, I would not put DS in it!! GL!

where do you live? there are places all over that can do this correctly.

it does lift up a little, but doesnt move side to side...did u have the latch system in the middle..u should have them on the sides then as well
