My nonstop, nosy, energetic, won't sit still DS is a ring bearer....

Yes, I know it's normal that a 21 month old boy is going to be a busy body. He doesn't sit still for a moment till he passes out. Literally!
I don't know what the other kids are on in Mommy and Me class that they sit for music and art. Even in library class the reader once told me another class would be better for him. I guess that's her way of kicking us out. Chat Icon
He's not bad by all means... Just has lots of energy and a curious mind. Needs to not only see the dirt, but be in it or wear it. Lol
Doesn't exactly follow instructions, but understands everything and is really so bright.
He is sweet and friendly too.

So... After all that said I need mega advise for a wedding we are in soon. Couldn't even get him to sit for a second to get the tux on. Lol
My almost 4 yr old I'm not worries about. He will try and ab his little brother's hand, but the baby wants nothing to do with it. Won't hold hands and doesn't want to be held to long either bc he loves his freedom.
How do I get him dressed while I'm the MOH and ready for pics and down the aisle. Too young to bribe!
We do have a sitter to help, but it's still a lot. Was thinking we can have him run down and say to give the pillow to his papa. It's my IL's wedding, but my parent's are sittig front row to sit with the boys or send them to the sitter in the suite.
The pics are done before the ceremony too so it's going to be a long day.
Thanks! After I will be enjoying my cocktails when they are home and asleep. Chat Icon Chat Icon

We had a rough time with our younger DS in my SIL wedding too. He was great at the rehearsal. But at the wedding he refused to walk down the aisle and was barely even in any pictures. Oh well. I didn't let it stress me out. I was disappointed that I didn't get any nice pictures of the four of us all dressed up, but what are you gonna do?! My older DS was a dream, so I just focused on that.
Do your best with it, but try not to have any grand expectations. If he does it, great! If not, don't sweat it. Try tempting him with a lollipop or even just a snack you know he likes. Tell him to go bring the pillow to grandma and she'll give you XYZ.

My 3 year old will be a flower girl in a few months.

My dh is in the Bp, I am not. We plan on telling her to walk to me, with her sister, also a fg. I'm hoping for the best, but won't be surprised if she doesn't make it.

No pressure either, it's my bil's wedding and they know how she is.

Your wonderful, lovely family will know that your child is energetic & welcome him in his vibrant nature!

Some of the best & sweetest & funniest moments can come of it!

Take it in stride & relax. Have a glass of wine before.

If you can, dress him in something comfy.

Janie & jack, although expensive, have some great FORMAL linen shorts. This and a shirt + bowtie may be formal enough & not uncomfy.

I think the idea of having him run to daddy is a great one.

This being said, my DS FLIPS OUT everytime he enters a church. During his baptism (he was 11 months), it looked like an exorcism. During my DD baptism (he was 22 months), he was just as bad (DD rather enjoyed it). We keep him comfy & distracted.

Have a back up plan: like your other DS doing the task... or you may have to walk your DS... or even carry him!

Thanks all. I'm not stressing it too much. Hoping for the best, but it is what it is. The family knows whatever happens. He has a little tux and looks adorable so hoping for some pics. Lol
My older DS I'm not worried about.
Some wine and more after they leave with the sitter.
It's at night so after the ceremony they will go back to my inlaws houses around the corner and go to sleep.
I like the lollipop idea. Maybe not a lolly, but some no sticky snack. Lol
