My first post on this board, I'm finally moving out on my own!

Just ordered my rental truck for next saturday! I had been in talks to rent out a friend of mine's basement apartment. I wanted to see if my new job was ok before i sealed the deal. I had a bunch of unfortunate things happen to me earlier this year with losing my job and having to move to a smaller place without my own room with my dad (i literally live in a corner of the living room in this place).

So now that i'm leaving the nest as they say I have a few questions:

Being that I never lived on my own before what are some things I should have in the house that people dont really think of?

Where is a good place to get cheap appliances and such?

any other help is greatly appreciated!

the first thing that came to mind is a flashlight! idk if these are the kind of things u r talking about....make sure you have a working smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector....as for appliances-maybe pc richards...don't they have sales on items that may be slightly dented,etc?????
