my first christmas away from my family...
DH is from Michigan, and we usually stay here on LI for Christmas eve and the whole Santa thing with my nephews in the morning and exchange gifts, then fly to MI on Christmas day around noon and can have dinner with his family, then spend a few days with them.
we lost my grandfather last june and our family is doing a low key christmas this year - so we are going to MI for the whole holiday. it should be really nice, i love DH's family.
.. but i just realized it is my first christmas not home at all!

Awwww, Gina, I can understand how hard it's going to be not to spend the day with your family, especially with your Grandfather not being with you this year , but I'm sure you will have a really good time in MI!!!
