My adorable nephew is devastated I am having a boy!!
Background story:
We went to build a bear for his 3rd birthday a few weeks ago and he had seen a "Hello Kitty" and wanted it.
My husband explained it had bows in its hair and it was for girls...(He wanted to make a "uncle vinnie working animal" with ahard hat, tool belt work boots-no way to get the bows off)
So he said "Aunt jen, when you haev your baby girl I can buy it hello kitty then?"
So I said "Yes if it's a girl- of course you can. But It may be a boy"
Fast forward to yesterday:
His mother wanted me to tell him I was having a boy- he is very close with my husband and I since he is in our house 5 days a week till his mother comes home-
So I told him "Sal, guess what I'm having"
And he says to me "Kiki(Thats what he calls me for some reason) You're having a babby girl!"
And so i said "No sal, you're going to have another boy in the family me and Uncle vinnie are having a boy"
So....
He gets insanely red, and starts to cry and says "Uncle vinnie hold me"
ANd we say "Why are you crying?"
It took him a few minutes and then he said :
"You're having a girl- I want to buy it hello kittyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!"
He is actually devastated. He asked if we can "bring it bacK"

aww thats soo cute!! why can't he have hello kitty? Maybe you can get the hello kitty and make it "manly" with different outfits or something lol.

Hello kitty had huge bows on her ears sewed on so there was no way to turn it manly

awww i feel so bad too, my four year old niece expects the baby every time i see her. She always cries when she sees me now, she is giving me a complex! 
So finally I told her that in the summer, when it is hot and she goes in the pool and the beach THEN the baby will be REALLY close to coming but not to expect her until then. I THINK she got it so hopefully next time I see her, she wont cry!

awww that is so cute! wasn't there a boy hello kitty character...
just looked and couldn't really find one, but Sanrio does have a cute dog character, Pochacco.
Here's a picture:
not that you could find that at build a bear but i bet there is a sanrio store somewhere near where you could find one that might make your nephew feel a bit better.

Aww- cute story. Let him get the Hello Kitty doll for his new (boy) cousin. The baby won't mind and it woulf be a great story years later.

Omg I also love Babu- hes this little blue bear! I was thinking of getting one and having him pick out outfits for him!!

He will NOT BUY it for a boy baby- he wanted a "girl baby" from aunt jenny
We asked him- we were like "We can go get the hello kitty for baby boy"
and he goes "But i want it to be a girl!"
